BBQ Day with friends

Ever since I have moved to Brisbane, there isn't much chance to hang out as regular as I was in Hong Kong. Other than my social circle is not so mature here yet, haven't master how to drive yet is another reason. So far hubby has given me two driving lessons, oh well.....not too bad, I think, but I do hope to master the task faster!

The weather of yesterday morning was great! Sunny and cool, lovely weather. That was the first time I tried Aussie style BBQ! It was quite different from what we had in HK, where we will bring a big bag of coal for open flame BBQ, here we have a hot plate to put on all our food, sort of like Korean BBQ!

Having been writing dairy for a few years! will write more often! :D:D

The 52 week collection: Week 52 Direction

The final picture for this 52 weeks collection. "not enough" is what I feel at this point of time, there are always rooms for improvement and new things to learn. From here where should the direction be? Time will tell!

Thanks for all the support from my friends along the way, it wasn't that easy to think about what to shoot every week, but surely, my will is still there and I would for sure do similar project in the very near future! :):)

The 52 week collection: Week 51 Sweeten up your day

Not so sure why but I like this picture quite a lot! Back in one of my favorite restaurants in Hong Kong which located near an ice skating area. My parents like to see people of all ages there ice skating! Nothing is more enjoyable than spending lovely time enjoying good food with family. Food, love, smile, photography always connect people.

The 52 week collection: Week 50 From the outside

Thanks Ally for accompanied me for a day a while ago for a nice lunch and photo shoot! Taking portrait is very enjoyable, especially when doing it with friends! Bricks pattern is one of my favorite background, the unique color and pattern of each brick combined together is just wonderful.

The 52 week collection: Week 49 Do not Distrube

I feel awful for having a long break for my 52 week projects, I want to honestly admit that not enough afford has been put into my project lately, and sort of running out of inspirations...it is a good opportunity to rethink and recap the journey of my photography path though! I will be back!

The 52 week collection: Week 48 Black and White

Before I have learnt to admire the beauty of black and white pictures, black and white pictures were not really my cup of tea, because often they cannot cheer me up like colorful pictures do. However, after seeing more black and white photography work from various photographers, I started to admire the beauty of details and how black and white pictures shift my focus when I am seeing them, which is pretty amazing!

The 52-Week Collection - Week 47: The First Encounter

Perhaps it is paradoxical to say that we have only one chance to make a first impression, this is still an interesting thing to think about. How would we want to present ourselves whenever we are gonna to make a first impression?

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Feel sorry there was delay at the last few weeks' work...hmmm don't want to find any excuse about the delay...I am indeed stuck in thinking what to shoot...out of inspiration for the time being...will squeeze more time to get my passion going again! *Finger crossed*

Relaxing weekend~

Another weekend! It is always great to gather with friends with good food, I have to say that Hong Kong is really a paradise for eating, there's a really wide variety of choices around that it is quite hard to feel bored dining out.

This week Voon and Chauses went to an old fashion restaurant, the floor, the wall, the tables and chairs, the fan, everything give a very nice feeling in this fast pace city.

A few weeks after Chinese New Year is also the time for shopping, lots of winter clothings are on sale now...hehe!

Relaxing weekend

Relaxing weekend! As time goes by, what I like to do for relaxation has changed. I feel more like to stay at home and cook, watch some movies, and take some pictures on holidays, rather than go shopping on the over-crowded streets...it seems that I became more sensitive to noise these years...hmmm quiet activities suits me more now lol (maybe that's the sign of getting...hmmm mature [old]? haha) Started the day with Taiwan style breakfast...made some soy bean milk yesterday...it is good for our skin and not that tedious to make. Don't worry if you don't have a soy bean milk machine, blender can do the same job. All we need is to get some soy bean, soak them in water overnight, blend them in the blender with the ratio of 1 cup of wet bean to 2 cups of water (adjust according to your taste~), pour the liquid over the sifter so it becomes smooth, then cook them in the pot for about 10 mins. The bubble will come up REAL HIGH, so use a big pot to cook the milk and do not cover with the lid.

Nothing is better than sitting on a comfy sofa with a cup of good coffee and a piece of dessert for tea time with family. This is the first time I buy coffee from Pacific coffee indeed (because of the buy 1 get 1 free special lol)...has been a loyal customer to Starbucks when I was in school...lol

After a walk in the supermarket (yay that's the best place I like to shop lol), we went back home for cooking...This was the dinner! Honey chicken wings and Gemelli in spinach sauce...use Cambell soup to ease the trouble of getting the cream sauce done lol it is always my good buddy for cooking pasta haha!

oh...how can the 2 days weekend holiday flies away so quickly?...

Waffle on Sandwich Machine?!

Chauses always likes waffle but she doesn't have a waffle machine...on this precious holiday - Sunday she decided to make waffle on her sandwich machine...lol

Recipe is adopted from OneShyOfABunch:

1 egg
1/4 cup of vegetable oil
3/4 cup + 2 TB milk
1 and 1/2 Tsp sugar
2 Tsp Baking Powder
1/8 Tsp Salt

Direction:
Beat the egg until fluffy, add in sugar, oil and milk and then the dry ingredient.

Preheat the sandwich maker and then pour over the liquid in batches , fill in the triangle space by full.
Time for 4 mins, then flip over the 'waffle' for anthoer 3 mins, or until they are well cooked.

Not so sure if they will be a success try in the beginning...it turned out okay!! LoL

Add honey..blueberry jam or whatever we like on and enjoy this great afternoon tea!

But honestly, Chauses still likes waffle in their traditional shape, think that is still the most delicious way to eat waffle lol

Name Stamp!

*haha* I am actually quite proud of myself after I made this name stamp LoL
My interest of making stamps should actually be traced back to the time when I was in primary school. I like doing stamps during lessons...LoL *shuuuu*

It has been quite a long long time till I made this name stamp a few days ago, after seeing my friend sharing very beautiful stamps photos on facebook, and so I picked some unused rubber and started making my name stamp...I would like to have this stamp for a long time and now here it is! Hehe

It is not that difficult to do actually, if you would like to make one also, just get a rubber that has been sitting in the house for ages, use MS word to print out your name in the font you like (size around 18) then flip the paper over and copy the line on the rubber (I am not very good in drawing so I need to print out something for reference...), use a cutter to cut away the rubber around the lines (of course we can use the tools that is specially designed for engraving, but I only have my cutter LoL) Be really careful, do not cut your fingers!

The 52-Week Collection - Week 45: The Formular

Oh gee!! I didn't realize that I haven't written any entry for such a long while....sorry orz
My camera is not in a very healthy condition for my battery charger went overseas unexpectedly lol and my prime lens finally calls for retirement...

This is probably the last great shot from my prime lens...I like my prime lens a lot *sigh*

Mcdonal's coffee might not be the best but it is one of my favorites. Producing a cup of successful coffee needs to follow strict formula just like baking a great cake...and I think this can applies to whatever we do too, although I also agree that inventions sometimes need us to not follow the formula we have.

em...hope I will get the mood back to take some photos soon again...

Best wishes for the year of rabbit!
